West Brom will be hoping to extend their lead at the top of the Championship on Saturday afternoon but could start in second with Leeds playing the early kick-off.
West Brom face Charlton in a 3pm kick-off on Saturday and it’s a good time to play Lee Bowyer’s side.
They’ve had a decent start to the season and while they’re in 10th, they’re only five points off the top.
However, they played on Wednesday when they lost 2-1 to Bristol City with the winning goal scored in the 98th minute of the game.
Bowyer has admitted that recovery could be an issue for his side and his numbers are already heavily depleted through injuries.
West Brom loan pair Sam Field and Jonathan Leko are ineligible to play, and Field could have missed out anyway after leaving the game at Ashton Gate on crutches.
Jake Forster-Caskey picked up a hamstring injury in the Bristol City game and will be out, along with Jonny Williams, Lyle Taylor and Adam Matthews.
As quoted in the Birmingham Mail, Bowyer said, “It’s all about our recovery now because we haven’t got long… We are rapidly running out of numbers. It is tough for us and we can’t get a break at the minute, but we will keep battling on.”
Talking of Bowyer, he’s serving the last of his three-game touchline ban, so will be sat in the stands for the game.
We don’t want to tempt fate but it seems like it’s a very good time to face the Addicks.
