West Brom cruised past Harrogate Town in the second round of the Carabao Cup at the Hawthorns on Wednesday evening.
Slaven Bilic made 10 changes from the 3-0 defeat against Leicester City on Sunday, with Dara O’Shea the only player to survive.
David Button, Cedric Kipre and Lee Peltier all made their debuts at the Hawthorns, with one eye on the Premier League clash with Everton on Saturday.
Sam Field made his first competitive start for the Baggies for over one year, partnering the opening goalscorer Rekeem Harper in midfield.
The 22-year-old didn’t exactly take his chance in the victory and was booked for a reckless challenge in the first half.
There has been strong Championship interest in the midfielder, with Coventry especially linked with a move for Field – who is clinging on to his spot in this Baggies squad as it stands.
With Conor Gallagher expected to join on loan this week, that should open the exit door at the Hawthorns, with Field the likely victim to leave.
Many West Brom fans have reacted to his performance against Harrogate, and they were more impressed with Harper after his long-range strike.
The majority weren’t happy with the 22-year-old, and with one claiming that he was anonymous in the heart of midfield.
West Brom News have picked out some of the best reactions below…
If you have no pace in the modern game, losing your player it's over..
Sam Field's challenge said a lot, unless you have impeccable reading of a game, you are always going to struggle with a distinct lack of pace..
Feel for the lad, but that was pretty poor..

I don’t mind Harper, hes just not consistent enough. Field doesn’t do anything magical but hardly puts a foot wrong.

Impressed with Button. Field absolutely anonymous. Harrogate aren’t a bad side but we absolutely NEED to change this formation!! #WBA

Field is decent but needs discipline cos there was no need for that challenge when he got a yellow card

Never make it this grade I’m afraid

That was a bit of a reckless challenge
