'Shambles', 'Corrupt', 'Robbed' - Many WBA fans outraged by 'Pathetic' moment v Man Utd
West Brom fell to a 1-0 defeat against Manchester United on Saturday evening in the Premier League.
The game was filled with controversy, and unfortunately, all of it benefitted the home side at Old Trafford from the first whistle to the last.
In the end, a Bruno Fernandes penalty was enough for all three points, despite the Albion missing numerous chances and hitting the woodwork.
VAR is a touchy subject at the best of times, but it was really a joke tonight.
First of all, it ruled out a clear penalty for the foul of Conor Gallagher, when Fernandes clearly got the man before the ball.
Then, it handed the Red Devils a penalty for a Darnell Furlong handball.
That was saved by Sam Johnstone, but a re-take was ordered after he left his line too early, but what about the players in the box? It works both ways, or so it should.
A system that was brought in to improve the game and help officials, has only made it more confusing and led to worst decisions.
Many West Brom fans were left outraged by the game at Old Trafford, and so they should with their being the possibility of points torn away from them.
Some even claimed they would rather be in the Championship compared to the “corrupt” Premier League after promotion.
West Brom News have picked out some reactions below…
Utterly robbed by the pathetic refereeing

I’d rather be in the championship. This league is a corrupt mess. Bilic should make them walk off. Disgraceful

I always knew that the premier league was corrupt, but OMG, how obvious was that
