West Brom star Alex Mowatt looks like he should be fit for Friday night
West Brom released a very intriguing image on their official Twitter account showing Alex Mowatt in training.
The 26-year-old was sent for a scan after an injury scare against Stoke City, but it seems as if he is at least in training, which is good news for the Baggies [Express & Star].
Since signing on a free from Barnsley in the summer transfer window, Mowatt has been absolutely fantastic for Valerien Ismael’s side.
The midfielder has scored three goals and has returned an average WhoScored rating of 7.24 for his displays.
Now, he could still miss the game if the Frenchman decides to be more cautious but can he afford to do that in this match against Birmingham City?
If he does miss the game, then Jayson Molumby could be handed his first start for the Baggies, which would be good to see, but we can’t see how he would do better than Mowatt.
The former Leeds United man has been consistently excellent for Ismael’s side, and this training image suggests that he could be involved against the Blues on Friday.
Of course, we should hear confirmation from Ismael on Thursday, but if Mowatt isn’t fit, why would the club account tease the fans?
Surely, that wouldn’t be something that they would have posted unless Mowatt was actually fit and raring to go.
Certainly, it will be intriguing to see if Mowatt is in the lineup at 7 pm on Friday as the Baggies look to move to the top of the league.
In other West Brom news, Simon Jordan has made a bizarre claim on Gareth Southgate and the Baggies.
