West Brom have to sign Daryl Dike in January
West Brom are crying out for a proper striker to lead them back to the Premier League.
The likes of Aleksandar Mitrovic and Dominic Solanke have both hit double figures in the Championship already, while the Baggies’ top goalscorer is Karlan Grant with seven.
However, Grant has played most of the season on the left wing, so he hasn’t been playing as a forward, and there is one man who the Baggies should be doing everything to sign.
Daryl Dike thrived under Valerien Ismael’s guidance last season and scored nine goals for Barnsley in their run to the play-offs.
Now, the Baggies were linked in the summer, and they should be doing everything they can to sign him in January as well [Express & Star].
However, Crystal Palace are supposedly keen, so if West Brom want him, they need to act now and put a move in place to seal Dike’s signing [Alan Nixon].
You would think that he could be the man to fire the Baggies up to the Premier League if they can make the move ahead of Palace and reunite him with Ismael.
He has also been described as “unbelievable” by Ismael [Yorkshire Post]
The likes of Bournemouth and Fulham have top strikers for this division who will score lots of goals, and they could ultimately be the difference between first, second, and third.
So, if the Baggies can get Dike, then they should be doing everything in their power to bring him to the Hawthorns.
He has proven himself in the Championship and could be exactly what they need, fingers are crossed the finances don’t stand in the way of the Albion.
In other West Brom news, Ismael has provided an update on Alex Mowatt.
