Richard Dunne stunned by West Brom star Callum Robinson for Republic of Ireland
Richard Dunne has been left stunned by the international form of West Brom attacker Callum Robinson this season.
The Irishman has been on fire on the international stage, scoring five in his previous two games before this evening.
Robinson started in the final third as the Irish took on Portugal in World Cup qualifying over in Dublin.
Dunne was speaking live on Sky Sports and he was clearly left stunned by what he has seen over the past few months.
“In an Irish shirt, those games he has played have been outstanding,” he said.
“What was good about him is that he is taking responsibility to get shots away, he has had a couple of deflections, but he has got that luck.
“If you don’t shoot you don’t get it, and that is what we have lacked.”
After a brilliant start to the season, Robinson has certainly hit a speed bump in terms of his form in the Championship.
There have been plenty of assists for Karlan Grant and his goals, but we need to start getting him in those types of positions too.
Having been on fire for his country in recent months, Valerian Ismael will hope to find that magic formula soon.
The consistency in his selection can’t help either, with Jordan Hugill being used as well in the final third.
Hopefully, we can find that formula soon and Robinson can start making the headlines at club level as well as international.
