West Brom have to make a move for Hal Robson Kanu

West Brom are struggling for goals; finding the back of the net just two times in their last five games in the Championship.

Jordan Hugill, the club’s only recognised forward, has scored one league goal, Grady Diangana has scored one league goal, and Callum Robinson hasn’t scored since August.

Therefore, they need to find some firepower from somewhere because there are still quite a few games until the January transfer window opens.

So, why don’t they bring Hal Robson Kanu back to the Hawthorns?

The 32-year-old was released in the summer after making 154 appearances for the Baggies in which he scored 24 goals.

In the Championship, he has made 247 appearances and scored 31 goals, so he knows where the back of the net is in this division.

Now, he might not suit Valerien Ismael’s style of play initially, but after a bit of time, you would hope he would be up to speed and could be the man to solve Albion’s goalscoring woes.

This might seem like an unwise move because of the way the Welsh international left in the summer, but at the moment, the Baggies don’t really have many other choices [Birmingham Mail].

Remember, he has been described as “exciting” by Kevin Phillips in the past and with a bit of time and a bit of love could reach those levels again [Express & Star].

At the moment, Bournemouth have hit a bit of a sticky patch, so if the Baggies can start finding the back of the net, they might be able to make up some ground.

They had plenty of chances on Tuesday night but couldn’t stick any of them away, and Robson-Kanu on a free could be a short-term solution to the problem until January rolls around.

Of course, if they can’t sign anyone in the winter transfer window, then the former Baggies striker should be able to do a job for the rest of the season.

In other West Brom news, Alex Mowatt has had his say on the race for promotion.
