The glaring problem West Brom must address immediately
West Brom have fallen away from the Championship promotion race somewhat and they were knocked out of the FA Cup by Premier League Brighton on Saturday (8 January) too.
Most experts have attributed these struggles to a misfiring front line who have scored a lot fewer than their promotion rivals.
And to a point, yes, that is a problem but another issue is beginning to rear its ugly head and Valerien Ismael needs to nip it in the bud now.
The Baggies have the worst disciplinary record in the entire division having received five red cards along with 47 yellows so far this season.
The sixth of their campaign was brandished in the cup as Cedric Kipre earned himself two yellows in a matter of moments and was sent to the showers early by referee Rob Jones.
This comes after two Baggies players were dismissed in the 1-1 draw with Cardiff last Sunday (2 January).
Six red cards would be a lot to receive in two seasons of football so for West Brom to have that many in just half a season is an alarming statistic.
Ismael has surely set the team up to make each game a battle but his players are now taking that too far and they’re now realising the problems with such a game plan
These problems simply must be addressed to prevent another sending off costing them yet more points in the automatic promotion place.
