David Prutton predicts result of West Brom against Preston North End

West Brom return to action on Wednesday (26 January) to face Preston North End at The Hawthorns, and they will be keen to make it back-to-back wins for the fourth time this season.

David Prutton does not see the Baggies winning, though, predicting a 1-1 draw for them while previewing the clash in his Sky Sports column given the visitors’ recent form.

Preston have lost just one of their last five Championship games, and they will fancy their chances of bouncing back against Valerien Ismael’s men.

The Sky Sports pundit said: “It looked for a long while like it was going to be another one of those afternoons for West Brom against Peterborough.

“But they got their breakthrough and the goals soon followed, which they will hope is a sign of things to come.

“Ryan Lowe suffered defeat for the first time in the Championship since taking over at Preston against Swansea, and will be expecting more from his team on Wednesday night.

“I fancy this one to be a draw.”

Tough clash?

West Brom are as unpredictable as they come, and no one knows exactly what they will do in every game given how they play.

It is why fans can only hope they turn out good against Preston.

Despite the 3-0 win over Peterborough, victory is not guaranteed over a tough Preston side, and Albion will need to be on top of their game against such a team.

While the opponents lined up to frustrate them at the weekend, the baggies managed to eventually break them down.

They will be facing a different team in The Lilywhites, but a win is very much possible if they can keep firing on all cylinders as they did against the Posh.

Preston have struggled to keep a clean sheet in recent games, and should West Brom make the most of their chances, finding the back of the net should not be tough for them.

This is a type of game capable of going either way, and just a moment could decide the result.

A win will come in very handy for the hosts, though, and they could do with an impressive run right now.
