Chris Lepkowski reacts to recent clip of West Brom striker Andy Carroll

West Brom have snapped up Andy Carroll on a free on a short-term contract until the end of the 2021-22 season, and Chris Lepkowski is thrilled.

The 33-year-old English striker moved to The Hawthorns after the two-month deal he signed with Reading ended earlier this month, and he has been tipped to hit the ground running.

Carroll scored twice in eight appearances for the Royals, with a pair of screamers disallowed in the space of a minute earlier this month, and Lepkowski was delighted while reacting to the clip via his personal Twitter account today.

The former Birmingham Mail journalist said: “Yep, I’m sold.”

Top signing?

The former Liverpool, Newcastle United and West Ham United striker proved his fitness at Reading after earning a deal following a trial, and he showed that he can still do something in front of goal.

Carroll has come in following Daryl Dike’s hamstring injury, and he could be thrown immediately into action when they visit The Den to clash with Millwall on Saturday.

West Brom will want him to make an immediate impact following just a win in their last six Championship games, and that cannot be ruled out.

The Baggies need all the firepower they can get as they look to secure an immediate return to the top-flight, and landing the veteran hitman could hand them a much-needed boost.

Carroll is joining at a time where Valerien Ismael has found himself under a lot of pressure amid the side’s poor run of form, and having him inspire them to some good results could save the Frenchman from being fired.

The striker is capable of scoring some worldies, and The Hawthorns could do with some sparks on the pitch right now.
