Chelsea about to sign West Brom sensation Jimoh despite Roman Abramovich sanctions
Chelsea are set to sign West Brom wonderkid Jamal Jimoh despite being hit by government sanctions, according to Sun journalist Alan Nixon.
Writing via his Patreon account on 6 April, Nixon claims that Chelsea “had already teed up a move” to sign the 15-year-old midfielder before Roman Abramovich was forced into selling the club.
It is understood that Albion will receive a compensation fee for Jimoh, who Nixon describes as “one of England’s best young talents”.

Nixon adds that Chelsea’s move for the youngster will shock rivals who thought they could take advantage of the current plight at Stamford Bridge.
Frustrating
West Brom keep developing really exciting young players but we never get to see them get a break at The Hawthorns because they’re always snapped up by other clubs first.
Lino Sousa has recently left to join Arsenal while Chelsea have also snapped up Leo Cardoso from the Baggies. There was also a lot of outcry from Albion fans in 2013 when Chelsea signed Izzy Brown.
As for the rest of West Brom’s top young talent – as well as the coaches – Aston Villa have them up with Louie Barry – via Barcelona, Triston Rowe, Chisom Afoka, Finley Thorndike, Tim Iroegbunam and Finn Azaz all heading across the West Midlands.

It’s not ideal but at least it’s promising in the fact that there might be one or two young stars who get missed by the prying eyes of England’s – and Europe’s – top clubs.
Either way, Albion are doing so much great work with their academy and the reward for it is minimal.
If one of these young players becomes a star at a top club, the feeling of frustration at The Hawthorns will be massive.
In other West Brom news, a staff member has quit the Albion to join Wolves.
