Steve Bruce ready to sacrifice Cedric Kipre to start West Brom overhaul with Rangers ready to swoop
Steve Bruce is ready to sacrifice Cedric Kipre in order to help with his overhaul of the West Brom squad this summer, according to the Express and Star.
It is reported on their website that the Baggies boss to keen to cut the wage bill at The Hawthorns, with Kipre targeted by Scottish side Rangers yet again.
The Albion are now ready to consider a loan move, as well as permanent offers if they come their way before the deadline at the start of September.
Writing in his latest piece, Joseph Masi shared the latest with Bruce ready to start making more moves in the current window this summer.
“Meanwhile, Albion centre-back Cedric Kipre has again been linked with a move to Scottish giants Rangers,” he wrote.
“And with the boss eager to cut his wage bill so he can overhaul his squad, it is understood Albion will now consider loan and permanent offers for the 25-year-old.”
It is about time that something changed at The Hawthorns, with too many players going along with their business with no pressure on their shoulders.
Kipre hasn’t performed consistently well ever since arriving from Wigan, and it was about time that he was shipped out permanently to send a message to the rest.
Many more will need to leave alongside the Ivorian defender to complete a full overhaul though, with the likes of Callum Robinson potentially on the chopping block too.
Sam Johnstone and Andy Carroll leaving will free up some big wages too, and it is time that the Baggies get to work on adding to the signing of John Swift already.
Bruce will be delighted with that first signing, but he will know that he needs numerous new signings and more athleticism in his side to add to that experience.
Ron Gourlay will want numerous plates spinning at once, but at this stage, it looks as though players need to leave before they start coming in.
In other West Brom news, the Baggies have tabled an official offer to seal yet another major new signing this month
