West Brom news in last 24 hours delights Adrian Goldberg
Adrian Goldberg echoed the thoughts of the vast majority of West Brom fans on Monday (10 October) when Steve Bruce was sacked.
He had overseen one of the worst starts to a season the Baggies have ever endured and Ron Gourlay had no option but to relieve him of his duties at The Hawthorns.
Under-21s manager Micahel Beale is now set to take interim charge of the first team while Gourlay leads the search for a replacement which may have to come after Albion's next home game.
Beale won't be alone with former West Brom icons Chris Brunt and James Morrison helping out but Goldberg could not hide his delight at the news.
"At last! Steve Bruce sacked," the BBC producer and avid Baggies fan said via his personal Twitter account less than 30 minutes after the news broke on Monday morning.
Hallelujah
It is unfortunate for Bruce that performances take such a precedent in football because nobody would accuse him of being a bad human being by any stretch of the imagination.
He always tried to make time for the fans after games and was willing to speak to anybody who approached him but ultimately, results are all that matters nowadays.
And they were not improving at The Hawthorns with him in charge despite numerous opportunities to turn the tide before his eventual sacking.
The toxic atmosphere during the Albion's 0-0 draw with Luton Town was perhaps the telltale sign to Gourlay that time was up on this particular era of West Bromwich Albion but he needs to move fast to get the new era up and running.
This will be a third manager in two seasons at The Hawthorns and if another dud is brought in, then it could be a very dangerous season in more ways than one.
