Blackpool boss Neil Critchley issues transfer update on Jerry Yates amid West Brom links
Blackpool boss Neil Critchley has issued an update on Jerry Yates’s future this summer amid links to West Brom, Bristol City and Coventry City.
He admits that he’s undoubtedly going to have suitors, given how well he’s performed for the Bloomfield Road outfit.
The 26-year-old has bagged 46 goals in 112 starts for the Tangerines since joining from Rotherham United three years ago.

Critchley said, via Blackpool Gazette, “As always, when people do well, they’ll have suitors from people above you, but without speaking to Jerry and knowing his thoughts – he’s under contract as well – it would be wrong of me to discuss any individual at this moment in time.
“You want your best players and Jerry is definitely one of them, but you also want players who want to be here as well. Until I have these conversations I don’t know yet so that’s obviously something for us to think about and discuss in the next few weeks.”
Sign him
It’s pretty evident that West Brom need to sign a new striker this summer as Daryl Dike is going to miss a significant part of the next season.
He ruptured his ACL and that’s going to take months for him to recover, assuming that everything goes as per plan in the American’s rehab.
The Baggies desperately need a proven goal scorer as they often lacked that cutting edge in the final third this past season.

Yates bagged 21 goals in League One and guided his side to promotion to the Championship but he could end up leaving.
That’s because he has only a year left on his deal and Blackpool will be among the favourites to go back down unless they significantly strengthen their squad.
West Brom are a much more stable team in comparison so it should be a no brainer if the choice is down to the striker.
