Brandon Thomas-Asante decision made – West Brom confirmed XI v QPR

Carlos Corberan has named his West Brom starting lineup to face Queens Park Rangers at the Hawthorns in the Championship on Tuesday evening (24 October).

As confirmed on the club’s X account, Corberan has made just one change to the lineup, with Okay Yokuslu returning to the side favoured over Alex Mowatt, but opted to keep Brandon Thomas-Asante in the side despite his struggles in front of goal.

Following a frustrating 0-0 draw to Plymouth Argyle on Saturday (21 October), the Baggies will be hopeful of returning to winning ways and getting themselves back into the playoff spots.

Big opportunity

Corberan had a big call to make on Brandon Thomas-Asante after his struggles in front of goal this season, but the boss will be eager to bounce back against a struggling QPR side.

With just two goals in 10 Championship matches for the Baggies, much of the Hawthorns faithful are eager for him to show a bit more, but Corberans’s decision to keep him in the lineup shows the faith the boss has in the 24-year-old.

Hoops fans will have to think back eight game weeks to remember their last win in the Championship as Gareth Ainsworth’s men continue to struggle in the second division.

Straggling down in 22nd place, QPR will be desperate for three points at the Hawthorns, but despite their draw to Plymouth, the Baggies will be confident in securing a win.

West Brom

Momentum needs to be built to get back into the promotion playoffs, and considering the financial restraints during the summer window, most fans will be pleased with the club’s position and performances this season.

The Baggies have a decent record against the London club, with just one defeat in their last eight encounters in all competitions, so recent history is on Corberan’s side.

West Brom’s home form has been decent too this season, with three wins, two draws and just the one defeat against Huddersfield in early September, but QPR’s torrid away form again is good reading for Baggies fans.

In other West Brom news, Corberan has revealed the club’s summer plans to sell an academy star on loan before his injury setback.
