BBC journalist blasts West Brom fans v QPR as he rages over ‘absolute stinker’
BBC Sport journalist Ged Scott has slammed West Brom fans after they booed their side’s performance against Queens Park Rangers.
As reported on BBC Sport’s live blog (24 October) the journalist claimed he couldn’t see why the Hawthorns crowd would boo their players despite the “absolute stinker” of a game in the first half.
Carlos Corberan’s men entered the dressing room at 0-0 after a poor display against the struggling Hoops, with neither side offering much in attack.

Scott said: “Boos from a fair few at The Hawthorns at the half-time whistle. Can’t see why.
“Personally, I was delighted that referee James Bell brought the half to an end after adding on just a minute of time – because this has been an absolute stinker.
“I can now head off and improve my evening with a nice cup of tea.”
Put the kettle on
Despite bouncing back from their dreadful opening 45 minutes, West Brom managed to get secure an important three points against QPR, but fans were given plenty of reasons to be frustrated. Brandon Thomas-Asante leathered his penalty home to give the Baggies the lead to finally give fans something to cheer about.
They offered very little going forward, while their defence was rarely tested by the blunt Hoops. Relegation is a real possibility for the London club, but the victory brings West Brom back into the playoff spots.

Corberan would have released a huge sigh of relief when Thomas-Asante stabbed in his powerful strike and put the game in the Baggies’ favour, but neutrals would have been more than justified switching over to any other Championship games.
It seems a bit harsh for some sections of the fanbase to boo their men at halftime. If their side were losing after 45 minutes to the 22nd-place QPR, then perhaps their criticism would have been justified, but the players certainly answered their critics.
In other West Brom news, one player certainly made the most of his opportunity against Plymouth.
