Tyrese Campbell update emerges as West Brom eye new striker transfer
West Brom target Tyrese Campbell is being wanted by Rangers, Cardiff City, Sheffield United and Swansea, according to Darren Witcoop.
The journalist took to X on 2 August to report that the 24-year-old has also held talks with a host of Championship clubs.
Campbell is now available on a free transfer with his contract expiring at Stoke City,
Witcoop wrote: “Tyrese Campbell continuing to hold talks with a number of Championship clubs. Swansea the latest to show an interest with West Brom, Cardiff and Sheffield United having previously sounded the forward out. Interest from Glasgow Rangers also in free agent.”
Tyrese Campbell will be a quality addition for West Brom
The Baggies should pursue Campbell’s services as he’s a proven goalscorer, having netted 36 goals in 164 appearances for Stoke City.
His ability to find the back of the net consistently would be a valuable asset for a team looking to challenge for promotion.
The 24-year-old’s versatility is another factor that makes him an attractive target.
He can play as a central striker or in a deeper role as well as on the flanks, which would give West Brom flexibility in their tactical approach.
The Englishman’s age and experience make him a player with room for further development.
At 24, he has already shown his ability at Championship level, but there is still potential for him to improve and reach even higher levels.
There is competition to secure his services but with the right approach, the Baggies can successfully lure him to the club.
In other West Brom news, a first-team player is not a part of Carlos Corberan’s plans and is likely to seal a loan exit this summer.
