West Brom make approach to sign Preston striker Will Keane
West Brom have made an enquiry for Preston North End striker Will Keane, according to Pete O’Rourke.
The football correspondent reported on 20 August that the Baggies have approached the Championship side to sign the 31-year-old.
DOOD has backed up this report on X but has suggested that there is no offer on the table from Carlos Corberan’s side for the Ireland international.
West Brom interested in Will Keane
It is clear that a new striker option is wanted at the Hawthorns ahead of the transfer deadline which is fast approaching.
This is in response to the departure of Brandon Thomas Asante to Coventry City after being the club’s top scorer in the Championship last season.
Corberan has already moved to bring Devante Cole in from Barnsley but that hasn’t slowed any interest in additional forward options.
Keane could prove to be a useful addition to the squad for the upcoming season but isn’t one to get fans off their seats in excitement.
The former Manchester United talent has been a steady striker in the EFL, shining most for Wigan Athletic in League One where he scored 27 goals in his best season [FotMob].
There is a chance that he could prove to be a positive signing, especially considering Preston aren’t likely to command a large fee for him.
