West Brom former striker Saido Behrahino now set to sign for new club
Former West Brom striker Saido Berahino looks set to move to India with Rajasthan United, according to Marcus Mergulhao.
The Times of India Sports Editor reported on 23 August that the Burundi international is heading to the Indian Super League.
In his time with the Baggies 31-year-old was “considered a bright young talent” but now looks set to complete a move to Rajasthan.
Former West Brom star Saido Berahino set for India move
The ex-England Under 21 international had the world at his feet at one stage as he came up through the ranks at the Hawthorns after joining from Stoke City.
This saw him score 20 goals in his best campaign for the club in the Premier League but has never gone on to score more than nine since.
It is well known that a move to Tottenham fell through which ultimately derailed Berahino’s career.
He has since had spells with Stoke City, Zulte Waregem, Sporting Charleroi, Sheffield Wednesday and AEL Limassol.
It is safe to say that none of these terms have been too impressive which has often seen him on the move as a free agent.
This summer is no different and at 31, he looks set to join an Indian Super League side which is his seventh new club since 2017.
A sorry tale of a “wonder kid” who went the other way and never hit the heights the Baggies knew he could reach.
