Preston make Will Keane announcement amid West Brom transfer interest
West Brom have lost out on signing Will Keane after Preston North End announced the striker’s contract extension.
Preston announced on their official website [29 August] that Keane has agreed to extend his contract at Deepdale until the end of the 2025/26 season.
The Baggies were preparing a £700,000 bid for the 31-year-old [DOOD] and will need to move on to alternative targets with only one day remaining until the 30 August transfer deadline.

Carlos Corberan has been dealt a blow in his pursuit of back-up to Josh Maja and has thrown the future of Mo Faal into doubt.
Wrexham have entered advanced talks for the permanent transfer of the 21-year-old [DOOD], but a sale has been reported to be dependent on the Baggies finding a capable replacement.
With Brandon Thomas-Asante departing for Coventry City and Daryl Dike recovering from a long-term injury, Corberan has limited options in the forward department.
Maja has been in sensational form in the Championship with four goals in three outings, but with 43 more fixtures to be played throughout the season, West Brom cannot afford to let the deadline pass without acquiring more forward depth.
Corberan has deemed Faal surplus to requirements at The Hawthorns. The Gambian failed to impress throughout pre-season, but he could get his chance should West Brom fail to secure an alternative target this summer.
That would be the worst-case scenario for the Baggies. They have started the 2024/25 campaign in excellent form and look like genuine promotion contenders.
The Baggies are now in a difficult situation and must capitalise on their early momentum and provide Corberan with capable forward options to attack the Championship, but have a little over 24 hours left to make it happen.
