West Brom fans react as Steve Bruce appointed Blackpool manager – ‘I’m so sorry’
Steve Bruce is back in management a little under two years on from his West Brom departure, having been appointed as the new Blackpool head coach.
The 63-year-old’s appointment at Bloomfield Road was confirmed by the League One side on their official website on Tuesday (3 September).
Bruce lasted just eight months in his most recent job as Baggies boss after being sacked following a run of one win in 13 matches to start the 2021-22 Championship campaign.
Blackpool are in the League One relegation zone and Bruce is now tasked with guiding his new side away from the bottom three.
West Brom fans cannot believe Steve Bruce appointment at Blackpool
Given his spell at The Hawthorns, not helped by his prior stints at West Midlands rivals Aston Villa and Birmingham City, Albion fans were quick to send warning messages to their Blackpool peers on X.
Bruce was succeeded at The Hawthorns by Carlos Corberan, who has worked wonders across his 23 months in the dugout.
In other West Brom news, the Baggies’ odds of being promoted this season have been shared.
