West Brom promotion odds: Four Championship rivals more likely to go up

West Brom are the fifth favourites to be promoted from the Championship, according to the latest bookmaker odds.

The Baggies have been priced at 10/3 by Betfair (3 September) after an unbeaten start to the season in the league has left them second in the table.

This leaves Carlos Corberan’s side fifth in the running according to the odds to secure a place in the Premier League for next season.

Betfair have Leeds United as 8/13 favourites, with Burnley their closest challenger at 8/5 as of Tuesday (3 September).

Behind them come Michael Carrick’s Middlesbrough at 5/2 and top-of-the-table Sunderland at 11/4, narrowly ahead of Albion.

West Brom Championship promotion odds shared

It has been as good a start to the season as supporters could have hoped for with three wins and one draw in their opening four outings.

The Baggies have undergone an unbeaten start, with their only failure to win coming against promotion favourites Leeds at The Hawthorns.

This stands Corberan’s men in good stead moving forward and they will be frustrated to have the international break halt their progress.

With clashes against struggling sides like Portsmouth, Plymouth Argyle and Sheffield Wednesday coming up, there is no reason why this run cannot continue.

This has been made easier by an excellent transfer window, with plenty of smart and cheap deals utilised by the club throughout the summer.

Free signings like Uros Racic have added some quality while paid deals for Mikey Johnston and Torbjoern Heggem have handed the whole club a boost.

Albion fans are excited for the season ahead and with good reason based on their start and the bookmakers’ odds.
