Romano shares Corberan-West Brom exit news amid release clause revelation
Valencia have reached an agreement with West Brom manager Carlos Corberan and have triggered his release clause of £2.8million, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The La Liga outfit are set to make the Spaniard their new head coach by Tuesday, 24 December.
Valencia owner Peter Lim has agreed to pay the amount and Corberan will sign a deal until 2027 at Mestalla. [El Desmarque, 23 December]
Romano wrote: “Carlos Corberán, set to sign as new Valencia head coach until June 2027 as replacement for Baraja.
“Release clause over €3m [£2.8m] triggered and Corberán will sign for Valencia in the next 24h.”
West Brom fans will be devastated to see Carlos Corberan leave
It seems an opportunity which is too good to turn down for Corberan.
While he loves the Baggies fans, the club and the Hawthorns, it was always going to be tough to keep him with the La Liga side so keen on his services.
During his fledgling playing career, he was at Valencia’s academy and their B team so this is a club he’s grown up being a part of.
It’s also his native country and he was born in the Valencian community so he surely will have childhood memories of the club.
The chance to help a fallen giant return to the top will be something that he would want to be a part of and given all he’s done at the Hawthorns, there’s no reason to think why he cannot do the same in Spain.

While fans will be sad to see him go, they will wish him the best of luck with his endeavours.
