Birmingham City send message to Tony Mowbray after West Brom development
Birmingham City have wished Tony Mowbray the best as he has become the new West Brom manager.
The Baggies confirmed Mowbray’s appointment on 17 January as the quest to find Carlos Corberan’s replacement finally ended.
Raphael Wicky was expected to be the one to take over, but that deal broke down, paving the way for Mowbray’s return.
Birmingham wrote on X: “WBA Everyone at Birmingham City wishes you nothing but the best, Tony!”
Tony Mowbray can be a crucial appointment for West Brom
Mowbray is expected to focus on securing a spot in the playoffs for promotion to the Premier League.
Given the club’s current seventh position in the Championship, his immediate goal would be to stabilise the team’s performance, particularly after a run of some poor form.
His short-term objectives would include enhancing the team’s attacking play, as evidenced by their recent goal-scoring form, while also addressing their inconsistency.
With the transfer window still open for a couple of weeks, Mowbray will aim to bolster the squad with players who fit his vision of an attacking, positive style of play.

His experience in the Championship is a significant asset and he will leverage this to quickly adapt and integrate new systems to give his side the best chance to secure promotion.
In other West Brom news, the Baggies are in a bid to sign Isaac Price, a player who is set to jet into the UK on Monday.
