West Brom fans disagree over Grady Diangana after ‘ridiculous’ moment v Stoke

West Brom supporters have taken to social media to air their views on Grady Diangana after he displayed a “ridiculous” piece of skill against Stoke City on Saturday.

New manager Tony Mowbray watched on from the stands as Albion drew 1-1 with the Potters at The Hawthorns, as Diangana netted a crucial equaliser in the second half.

The crafty winger also pulled some trickery from his locker for the new boss to marvel over, before he was withdrawn by Chris Brunt with 13 minutes remaining.

Diangana, 26, missed a period between November and December while recovering from a calf injury, but has returned to action in the past month and shown glimmers of his capabilities as fans debate whether they should keep him onboard.

As the piece of skill went viral with a series of videos reposted to X, Diangana was lauded by many Baggies fans who have high hopes for how he can perform under Mowbray, one claiming he will be a “demon” with the guidance of the returning manager.

Another fan branded Diangana’s skilful moment as “ridiculous”, as one supporter called the Congolese the “best player in the league” when he’s on song.

However, others remain unhappy with the former West Ham star, branding him “the most frustrating player ever” and making remarks over a lack of consistency, while one supporter bemoaned a fellow Baggie claiming they would take £500,000 to sell the forward.

Mowbray has a track record of getting the best out of his squad not just during his previous stint at The Hawthorns, but in several jobs since.

The 61-year-old returns to management following a near year-long break to recover from a bowel cancer diagnosis, revealing he has been passed fit to return to work by his hospital in Manchester.

The promotion-winning boss of 2007-08 will take his first game back in charge of Albion at the ground of his hometown club Middlesbrough this Tuesday (21 January).
