Tottenham fans rage as West Brom sign Lankshear – ‘I bet he doesn’t play’
West Brom announced the loan capture of Tottenham striker Will Lankshear – but it didn’t go down well in North London with many fans sharing the same sentiment.
Following the injury to Josh Maja, the need for attacking reinforcements at The Hawthorns has been evident and with the signing of Lankshear, West Brom appear to have succeeded in that.
Daryl Dike’s return is on the cards in the near future [DOOD] but a striker signing remained a priority for the Baggies who opted to sign the Spurs youngster.
However, the announcement didn’t arrive without fume at Tottenham with many supporters questioning the decision to sanction Lankshear’s exit while others were unsure whether it was the right loan switch for the 19-year-old.
Tottenham fans fume after Will Lankshear joins West Brom
Given the current situation at Tottenham, fans were left perplexed at the idea of loaning out one of their only natural strikers at the club with Dominic Solanke out injured.
A small minority saw the positives of the loan but the overwhelming majority were left aghast at the decision to allow his departure with many of the comments following a similar trend.
Many Spurs fans question the amount of game time Lankshear will get but given the fact that Dike has been sidelined for almost a year and Maja will need time to get back up to speed, it’s highly likely he will arrive as the starting striker.
What happens from there will be up to the teen. If he impresses in the absence of the injured duo, there is no reason he can’t retain his place in the XI and even if that were not to be the case, game time will still be frequent.
In other West Brom news, the Baggies have held fresh talks with a Championship striker who has five goals this season.
