West Brom could be set to sign Adam Armstrong on loan from Southampton, according to Alfie House.

The Daily Echo journalist reported on 3 February that a deal for the 27-year-old could still be on despite the winter window slamming shut at 11pm.

The Saints have been willing to let the Englishman go as they deal with an inflated squad, and the striker wants to play more regular minutes.

West Brom could still sign Adam Armstrong from Southampton

At the 11th hour, the Baggies may be set to complete an excellent piece of business to give their promotion hopes a boost.

The forward is somewhat of a Championship specialist despite never being able to quite replicate his goalscoring exploits in the Premier League.

In his last three second-tier campaigns, Armstrong has netted 68 goals and could set to hopefully replicate that form under Tony Mowbray.

It will be interesting to see if Albion have submitted a deal sheet to complete the deal after the deadline and if the top striker makes a late but great switch to The Hawthorns.
