Kieran Maguire shares West Brom disappointment after new investigation reveal
Jeremy Peace was part of a major investigation at West Brom, the outcome of which may have disappointed many fans.
The 68-year-old British businessman was associated with the Baggies for many years but was embroiled in a controversy for some of his actions.
Bilkul Football confirmed their takeover at The Hawthorns in February 2024 and have since brought much-needed stability to the West Midlands outfit.
Shilen Patel has done well at the Black Country club but has been saddled with some significant past issues, especially the repayment of loans.

Peace loan controversy at West Brom closed
Peace, who was the owner of the Baggies in 2014, had taken out a £3.7million loan to West Bromwich Albion Holdings Limited.
The Black Country outfit and Shareholders for Albion (S4A) had thoroughly reviewed a report on that carefully and concluded that no further action would be taken and that the matter has been closed.
Kieran Maguire believes the outcome of the investigation may have disappointed some fans but not the former owners.
The football finance expert wrote on X (6 March): “The investigation into the mysterious loan given to West Brom Holdings concluded no further action to be taken which will disappoint many Baggies fans, but not former owners.”

Bilkul Football bringing stability to The Hawthorns
Bilkul Football have been immense at The Hawthorns as the Baggies look to have found stability under them, sitting in the play-off spots again.
Their decision to replace Carlos Corberan with Tony Mowbray has also been astute as the Englishman has the Albion on a three-game unbeaten run in the Championship.
Leeds United were held to a draw at Elland Road by Mowbray’s team in the league on 1 March.
The West Midlands outfit are aiming for promotion back to the Premier League, and who better to lead them there than someone who has already achieved it in the past?
Championship table (2024/25) | Points |
1. Leeds United | 76 |
2. Sheffield United | 73 |
3. Burnley | 71 |
4. Sunderland | 65 |
5. Coventry | 53 |
6. West Brom | 52 |
Mowbray is a fan favourite at The Hawthorns after his previous stint there, highlighting the new ownership’s decision-making being on point.
While there’s still a long way to go and major financial difficulties present at the Black Country club, there’s hope that Patel will be able to take them out of the mess.
For now, the focus should be on the 2024/25 season, and the Baggies should aim to do better than the previous campaign, having lost to Southampton in the play-offs semi-final.
The Hawthorns faithful must go game by game and focus on QPR, who travel to West Midlands on Saturday (8 March).
