The owners are delighted, with CEO Andrew Nestor reposting the victorious scoreline onto his X account with an applauding emoji.

Siobhan Hodgetts-Still delighted with West Brom Women cup win

West Brom Women manager Siobhan Hodgetts-Still was a childhood Baggies fan, and she has now won her first trophy in charge of the club.

Speaking to club media, Hodgetts-Still praised her team, who left her “speechless” after a fine display.

“I thought performance-wise it was excellent throughout the game. First half, I thought we dominated and picked some really good moments to press and counter-attacked really well,” she stated.

“I thought our finishing was excellent and I don’t think I could ask for more from them. I’m really proud and I’m really happy for them, they deserve that.

“It’s been a long season, we’ve done well in the cup, and we’ve done really well to bring that home tonight. I think tonight was massively deserved for them.

“It all came together for us. I’ve said it all season when we play like that with confidence and togetherness, I’ll back us against anyone. We stuck to the plan. To win 6-2 in a final – I’m just speechless really.”

West Brom Women are seventh in the FA WPL Premier Division, but this trophy will give them confidence that they can push further up the table and continue to develop under Patel and Nestor.

This could truly be the start of a new era at West Brom if both the men’s and women’s teams are given significant backing from the club, and this trophy win may have increased their signing of success.
