West Brom fixtures ‘to be moved in days’ as Sky Sports issue update

West Brom were recently made aware of the fixtures that await them in the Championship next season.

Ryan Mason’s tenure as West Brom manager will get underway with a home encounter against Blackburn Rovers in August, as the Baggies look to improve on the results they managed last time out.

Of course, recruitment is set to play a crucial role in whether or not they can find that success, with plenty of movement expected at The Hawthorns in the coming weeks.

With West Brom already back for pre-season training, focus is already on the new campaign, though the dates of which they play could be set to change.

Sky Sports set to change Championship fixtures

With the fixtures for the new Championship campaign released, Sky Sports will now deliberate over which games will be moved for live TV broadcast beyond those on the opening weekend, which are already locked in.

That decision will come on 3 July, as confirmed by Sky Sports, with each EFL side featuring on TV more than 20 times throughout the campaign.

Albion fans will be more than accustomed to having their encounters moved to suit the needs of the broadcasters, with fans done over on more than a handful of occasions last season.

Thankfully, this season, Sky and other broadcasters look set to give fans as much notice as possible before moving fixtures.

All televised matches up to the end of September will be known next week, before the TV games up until early January are locked in before the season officially begins.

West Brom need to get off to a good start

A lack of consistency was West Brom’s biggest downfall last season, compounded by the fact that they drew far too many games to have any real chance at promotion.

That needs to change this time round, and Mason will be the man tasked with achieving that, though the level at which he is backed in the market will play a crucial role.

Several deals will undoubtedly be in the pipeline at The Hawthorns, with movement expected once the current PSR year has run its course at the end of the month.
