Derby ready Grant transfer at West Brom as spending spree continues

Karlan Grant could be the next out the door at West Brom as Ryan Mason prepares for next season.

Grant’s spell at The Hawthorns has been inconsistent after signing from Huddersfield in 2019.

The forward returned from a loan spell with Cardiff City to notch seven league goals in 43 games last term, but he has failed to impress multiple managers in recent seasons.

The 27-year-old’s exit could finally be confirmed in this window, with West Brom possibly looking to cash in before Grant’s contract expires next summer.

Derby reignite interest in West Brom’s Grant

Mason will be keen to bring in his own players, with the Baggies having already signed Nat Phillips this summer.

With West Brom now set to sign Norwegian striker Aune Heggebo for £4.75million, Grant’s time at The Albion could finally be coming to an end.

In the winter window, Derby were said to be very keen on signing Grant, and that hasn’t gone anywhere.

According to ex-journalist Dood on X (6 July), Derby are showing interest in Grant again this summer.

Derby have already started preparing for next season, adding Carlton Morris and Andreas Weimann to their squad.

The Rams are also set to sign American striker Patrick Agyemang for £5.8million as John Eustace looks to build on Derby’s 19th-placed finish last season.

Grant could be next to make the short move.

The 27-year-old needs to be playing consistently, and with the Baggies set to sign Heggebo, game time isn’t guaranteed.

Josh Maja and Daryl Dike look set to enter the new season fully fit, so chances will be very slim.

Mason’s side, however, still need to make moves this summer, having already lost the likes of Grady Diangana at the end of last season.
