Ryan Mason has the perfect formula for West Brom to get three points vs Norwich City
Ryan Mason has already shared the perfect formula to help West Brom beat Norwich City on Wednesday night.
The Baggies are making the trip to Norfolk with the view of getting their Championship campaign back on track, with a three-match winless run having derailed their previously unbeaten start.
West Brom conceded in stoppage time against Leicester City, as the worrying trend of them shipping late goals plagued them once again and resulted in a 1-1 draw.
Ryan Mason’s men will be gunning to put that frustrating draw right this time around, and the boss has already identified what it will take for them to defeat their hosts.

Ryan Mason knows Josh Sargent threat at Norwich City
West Brom will be looking to inflict a fourth successive home defeat on Norwich when they visit Carrow Road on Wednesday night, but the trip may not be as easy as it seems at face value.
The Canaries have goals within their ranks, having found the back of the net in all of their league outings so far this term.
However, Mason has already proven that he knows exactly how to beat Liam Manning’s side, and that is by stopping Josh Sargent.
The 34-year-old emphasised how Norwich’s “goalscorer” would be a “real threat” for his team in quotes posted on Albion’s X account, and as a result, he will surely have a plan to nullify the frontman.
Sargent already has five goals from seven appearances so far in 2025-26, a tally which is bettered by only one Championship player at the moment.
Goals | Player |
6 | Ollie McBurnie |
5 | Victor Torp |
5 | Josh Sargent |
5 | Haji Wright |
4 | Anis Mehmeti (and four others) |
He has been a consistent performer in the second tier for years and possesses a level of quality that will make him a significant threat to every opponent in the division.

However, the fact that Mason has already identified him as a key point of interest can only be positive, as it shows he is completely aware of the danger that the 25-year-old carries.
Stopping Sargent is the key to stopping Norwich, and if Albion can manage that successfully, then there will be little preventing them from taking the points back to The Hawthorns.
Nat Phillips and Chris Mepham are the perfect formula to handle Sargent
Nat Phillips and Chris Mepham have been revelations for West Brom so far this term, and they will surely be the duo tasked with handling Sargent on Wednesday night.
Mason is clearly aware of the task that is facing his team as they try to shut down the frontman, but he has the perfect formula to do so with his first-choice centre-back pairing.
Mepham and Phillips are two of the Championship’s best stoppers, and their reading of the game and their positioning should make it a very difficult night for Sargent.
Ultimately, his class may still be telling, but there is no one who Mason would rather have to try and mark him out of the game.
