West Brom must be on Mikey Moore red alert ready for Tottenham January decision
Mikey Moore could yet end up pulling on a West Brom shirt before the end of the season.
The Tottenham youngster was heavily linked with a move to The Hawthorns over the summer, but the Baggies ultimately lost out to Rangers in the race to secure his services for the season.
West Brom showed a sustained interest in Moore, with their local rivals Birmingham City also extremely keen to take the Spurs starlet.
However, while Rangers won the race on that occasion, things have been far from rosy for the 18-year-old during the early stages of his spell north of the border.

West Brom should eye Mikey Moore loan if Tottenham exercise recall
Ryan Mason’s influence was ultimately unable to convince Tottenham that West Brom were the right club for Moore during the summer transfer window, but that shouldn’t put them off trying to seal a deal once again this winter.
The winger has had a torrid time at Ibrox so far this term, and has registered just a solitary assist from his opening eight appearances for the Glaswegian outfit.
Stats (per game) | Moore Total |
Minutes | 43 |
Touches | 22.8 |
Accurate Passes | 6.8 (61%) |
Successful Dribbles | 0.5 (29%) |
Duels Won | 2.3 (39%) |
Russell Martin is already under immense pressure at the Gers, and as such, the environment surrounding the club is not the sort that is conducive to providing a young player with the confidence to perform.
With that in mind, Albion must ensure that they pay close attention to the situation in the coming months, given that Spurs have the option to recall Moore in January, as per Football Insider.

Mason still has an excellent reputation among the hierarchy at the North London outfit, given his rapid rise through their coaching ranks.
If Moore’s tumultuous stint at Ibrox continues until the new year, then Tottenham may value the security of sending him for a second loan stint to work under someone that they trust.
However, West Brom must ensure that they remain on red alert regarding the starlet’s future, because if the Lilywhites do decide to exercise their recall option in January, then there is sure to be plenty of interest from elsewhere.
Mikey Moore arrival would spell the end for Jed Wallace
Samuel Iling-Junior has made an excellent start at West Brom in recent weeks, as the Aston Villa loanee has two goal involvements from his last two starts.
- West Brom hadn’t scored a goal after a take-on all season in the Championship
- They have now scored two in two games since Iling-Junior has come into the team
The 21-year-old has shown the value of energetic, ball-carrying wingers to Mason’s counter-attacking setup, and he and Mikey Johnston have both caught the eye of late.
Moore also falls into that category of wideman, and would surely be an exciting addition for that reason alone.
However, if the Black Country outfit could strike a deal to bring him in on loan in January, then it would surely spell the end for Jed Wallace.
There has been a noticeable drop-off in intensity in recent games when the club captain is introduced, and he simply doesn’t have the pace to be an effective threat on the flanks anymore.
