‘You are a disgrace’ – Wolves fans furious at Sam Johnstone as West Brom supporters in stitches
West Brom could be set to face Wolves in a league game for the first time since 2021 next season.
Rob Edwards’ side looked destined to be relegated, and with the Baggies sitting 12th in the Championship, the Black Country derby could be returning.
West Brom last played Wolves in the FA Cup back in 2023, with Pedro Neto and Matheus Cunha scoring the goals as the Molineux outfit ran out 2-0 winners in a hostile Hawthorns.
You have to go back to the 2020-21 campaign for the last league clash between the pair, though, which took place before West Brom’s relegation to the Championship and ended in a 1-1 draw.
Sam Johnstone makes big mistake as Wolves lose again
West Brom beat Swansea City 3-2 last weekend, picking up just their second victory in eight games.
That is nothing compared to the run of form Wolves are on, though, with the Molineux outfit still yet to pick up a win this season in the Premier League.
Edwards’ side have just two points from their first 14 top-flight matches in the 2025-26 campaign, and are on track to break Derby County’s record for the lowest ever Premier League points total.
The Old Gold were beaten once again on Wednesday evening, as Sean Dyche’s Nottingham Forest secured a 1-0 win at Molineux, much to the delight of Baggies.
Former West Brom goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, who now plies his trade at Wolves, was at fault for the Forest goal.
The 32-year-old came flying out to claim a cross, but was beaten to the ball by Igor Jesus, who was able to head into an empty net.

West Brom fans in brilliant reaction to Sam Johnstone’s mistake
Wolves fans were less than impressed with Johnstone’s mistake, with one supporter even labelling the former Baggies shot-stopper as a disgrace.
He said: “Sam Johnstone, you are a disgrace. What on earth do you do all week? At least my love of Mars bars is my excuse for struggling to get off the floor more than a foot. What is yours?”
Another said: “How did Sam let that slip through his hands again? Unreal.”
West Brom supporters could do little to hide their glee at one of their former players contributing to Wolves’ downfall.
One fan simply replied, “boing boing” to display the feelings of the Baggies faithful.
Another supporter joked, “Agent Johnson”, as the Baggies faithful were left in stitches again.
Johnstone played for West Brom between 2018 and 2022, making 167 appearances for the Baggies before moving to Crystal Palace on a free transfer.
Wolves fans are consigned to relegation already, and it looks as though the England international isn’t doing much to stop those fears.
