Sean Dyche to West Brom odds shift after Wednesday developments
Sean Dyche has fallen down the pecking order with the bookies to become West Brom’s next boss.
On January 11, West Brom made the bold move to appoint Eric Ramsay following the departure of fellow 34-year-old head coach Ryan Mason.
The former Tottenham interim boss lasted less than eight months but Ramsay was in charge at West Brom for a paltry nine games, with the 1-1 draw with lowly Charlton Athletic on Tuesday the last straw.
The Hawthorns outfit are outside of the Championship relegation by a solitary point, with Leicester City – who just received a six-point deduction for breaking Profit and Sustainability Rules – just behind them in 22nd.
Recently sacked Nottingham Forest boss Dyche was among the favourites to succeed Ramsay at West Brom but his odds have shortened in the space of 24 hours.

West Brom fan favourite soars to top of odds list
According to one leading bookmaker, Dyche has slipped to 10/1 to take over at West Brom, with former Southampton and Rangers boss Russell Martin now at 8/1.
On Wednesday morning, ex-Burnley and Everton manager Dyche was at 6/1, with Martin at 5/1, and West Brom first-team coach James Morrison was leading the way at 2/1.
However, former West Brom defender and head coach Darren Moore has surged to the top of the odds list, with Morrison neck and neck with his old boss.
This comes after a report in the Daily Mail named Moore as one to watch for West Brom.
| West Brom’s potential managerial candidates | Odds |
| Darren Moore | 2/1 |
| James Morrison | 2/1 |
| Russell Martin | 8/1 |
| Sean Dyche | 10/1 |
| Slaven Bilic | 10/1 |
| Ole Gunnar Solskjaer | 12/1 |
Former West Brom boss Slaven Bilic is said to be in the running for the position, and ex-Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has also been mooted.
West Brom are running out of time to save their season. They simply have to get this managerial appointment right, else they could be spending next campaign in League One.
Which managers will be ruled out of West Brom job?
With West Brom just above the relegation zone, some managers who would likely have said yes to them in the summer could say no to them now due to their current predicament.
Coaches don’t like to have a relegation on their managerial CV but West Brom are one of the biggest clubs in the Championship, so they will be an attractive proposition to many candidates.
While Dyche would be quite the coup for West Brom, he will still have desires to manage in the Premier League – something the Baggies are worlds away from right now.
Former Molde boss Solskjaer is notoriously picky with jobs, having only briefly coached Besiktas in 2025 after leaving United in 2021.

Carlos Corberan has also been mooted as a potential candidate but as long as he is in the job at Valencia, a club he left West Brom for, a return to the Midlands outfit seems remote.
Moore has been out of work since being sacked by Port Vale on 28 December but the fact that he struggled in League One does not bode well there.
Ruud van Nistelrooy is another name to come up but he has just been named as assistant coach for the Dutch national team ahead of this summer’s World Cup.
Whichever manager West Brom go for, they cannot afford any more mistakes.
