Allardyce states one key difference between West Brom and Everton

Sam Allardyce claims the ability to score goals in the key difference between his West Brom side and Carlo Ancelotti's Everton.

Albion and the Toffees face each other on Thursday night at The Hawthorns with both teams in need of points for very different reasons.

Big Sam insists his side has to start taking their chances after recent draws against Burnley and Manchester United should've been turned into wins.

Allardyce is quoted by BBC Sport as saying, "It is goal-scoring ability. How often do your front men take the chances? At the top end you need someone to take one in two or three.

"Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison are getting right up there with their returns. You don’t have as many at the bottom but you need one.

"We are never going to be a free-scoring team but we need to take our chances on a regular basis."

Allardyce brought in Mbaye Diagne in January in a bid to fix our problems in front of goal.

On the whole, the forward has been a good signing but he should've had a hattrick against Manchester United and he had the chance to win the game against Burnley.

It isn't entirely his fault but we dropped four points across those two games because we couldn't score and we simply aren't in the position to drop points.

If the chances come against Everton, as they have in recent games, we simply have to take them as it doesn't matter who we play now, we have to win.

Everton will take their chances and that is a major worry as we may have to rely on Sam Johnstone having an absolute blinder to get a result despite our recent improvements at the back.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison are very dangerous attackers and their ability to finish off chances puts our attackers to shame.

We simply have to improve at the top of the pitch.
