‘Excellent news’ – Some West Brom fans react as striker signs new deal with club

18-year-old West Brom striker Jamie Soule has signed a new three-year contract at The Hawthorns and fans are delighted.

The youngster has come up through the youth ranks at the club – he’s been with West Brom since he was eight – and has been impressing in the Under-23s this season.

Soule is the top-scorer with four goals and he’s added three assists as well in just six Under-23s games so far this season, with his side sitting seventh in PL2 Division 2 after three wins.

The news of his new deal was announced on Tuesday afternoon on the official West Brom Twitter page.

The news comes as a big boost for the club after it had been reported that Borussia Dortmund were tracking Soule over the summer after he impressed them in the FA Youth Cup semi-final against Manchester City in April.

They’re looking for the next Jadon Sancho but will have to resume their search elsewhere now.

Fans are delighted with the news with one saying academy talents like Soule were the “heart and Soule of the club”.
