‘What a joke’ – Some West Brom fans react to September manager of the month award
Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi has beaten West Brom’s Slaven Bilic to the Championship manager of the month award for September – and some Albion fans on Twitter are not happy.
Although the Baggies sat top of the table at the end of last, it has been confirmed by the Championship’s official Twitter account that Bilic has missed out on the accolade, which has instead gone to Lamouchi.
Forest won all three of their Championship fixtures in September and currently find themselves second in the standings, only bettered by West Brom’s marginally superior goal difference.
Albion won two and drew one of their matches last month, so it seems as though the award has gone to the manager with the best record, rather than the manager whose team tops the table.
That has not stopped some West Brom fans from venting their anger over the news on Twitter though, with one saying that Bilic’s snub is a “joke”.
However there are some supporters who are pleased the award went to Lamouchi due to a supposed manager of the month curse.
