Former West Brom man in frame for Stoke job ahead of clash on Monday
Stoke City have been thrown into disarray a few days before the Championship clash against West Brom at the bet365 Stadium on Monday.
In a statement released earlier on Friday, Stoke confirmed the departure of manager Nathan Jones and added that Assistant manager Paul Hart and first-team coach Joaquin Gomez had left too.
That leaves Rory Delap, Kevin Russell and Andy Quy in charge for Monday’s game.
Stoke are currently joint bottom of the Championship after 14 games and only ahead of Barnsley on goal difference.
West Brom journalist Joseph Masi tweeted that a former Baggies manager was one of the front-runners for the job.
He said that Chris Hughton and Tony Pulis were the favourites to take over at the beleaguered Championship club.
Pulis spent two-and-a-half years at West Brom, which ended after a run of just four wins in 22 league games on November 22, 2017.
The Baggies were relegated and finished bottom of the league at the end of that season.
It all bodes well for the game on Monday when a win would see West Brom cement their status at the top of the league.
