‘I’m hearing it the whole time’ – Bilic delivers message to West Brom fans after 2-0 win v Stoke

Slaven Bilic paid tribute to the West Brom fans who turned up in their droves to see the Baggies move back to the top of the table, beating Stoke 2-0 at the bet365 Stadium. 

Goals from Matty Phillips and Hal Robson-Kanu off the bench were good enough for the three points but Bilic paid tribute to the fans who made the trip up north on Monday night.

Talking after the game, Bilic said, “They’re different class, in numbers and in sound. You really feel it. I can hear it, of course, I’m hearing it the whole time. The players too.

“They’re brilliant and they’re one of the biggest reasons we are playing so well away from home this season. They’re top.”

There’s a feeling that there’s something special happening at West Brom under Bilic this season and he’s created a real feel-good feeling between club, players and fans.

That synergy is feeding the performances and the noise at Stoke was something else.

According to official Championship figures, West Brom have the fifth-highest attendances in the league, with Leeds out at the top.

However, when you look at away games, West Brom are top with an average attendance of 22,215.

Everyone wants to see West Brom play this season and there’s a good reason. Attractive, attacking football under Bilic and top of the league. It’s playing out to be a good season.
