
Tottenham & Liverpool in hunt to sign West Brom teenager – report
Tottenham and Liverpool are among a number of top Premier League clubs who are in the hunt to sign West Brom teenager Rico Richards, according to the Sun.
The newspaper claims that Manchester City and Arsenal are also interested in the 16-year-old forward, who has already been training with Albion’s Under-23s squad.
The England Under-17 international’s contract at West Brom expires at the end of the season but it is understood that the Black Country club is eager to thrash out fresh terms with the in-demand youngster.
Morgan Rogers and Louie Barry both left West Brom in the summer when they moved to Man City and Barcelona respectively.
West Brom are clearly doing something right in their academy to have their youngsters attract this level attention from not only the best clubs in England, but also the best clubs across Europe.
Barry signed for Barca in the summer and The Athletic have reported that Juventus hold an interest in young full-back Nathan Ferguson.
Luke Dowling has overseen massive changes in the academy set-up and while we are yet to see what sort of impact those changes will make, it is fair to say that there might not have been anything wrong with the previous system based on these reports.
