West Brom have signed young forward Moudou Faal to play for their Under-17s side, it has been confirmed.

Albion’s head of academy recruitment Stephen Hopcroft announced Faal’s arrival via his personal Twitter account on Tuesday, with the teenager arriving to join the Baggies from CS Colts FC.

Faal played for Sutton Coldfield Town’s Under-16s last season and had a key role in winning the Minor Challenge Cup.

He put in a man-of-the-match-worth display in a 3-1 win against Alvis Eagles U16s in the final and has since continued to impress to the point where he has been offered the chance to shine in West Brom’s academy.

Hopcroft has been one of the main men behind the success of West Brom’s academy in recent years with the recruitment chief being responsible for snapping up the likes of Saido Berahino, Sam Field, Jonathan Leko and Kane Wilson for the Black Country club.

During his time at Birmingham City, Hopcroft was also one of the men behind Nathan Redmond and Demarai Gray’s emergence at St Andrew’s.

It is fair to say that when it comes to spotting young talent from the West Midlands, Hopcroft is the man to trust and Manchester United’s previous interest [Express & Star] in him says it all.

In other West Brom news, this Albion player has not featured this season but has confirmed he’s ready to play against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
