Leeds star claims West Brom are ‘best team in the league’
Leeds United star Mateusz Klich has claimed that West Brom are the best team in the Championship as the Yorkshire club went top of the table on Saturday.
Leeds won 4-0 against Middlesbrough at Elland Road to send Marcelo Bielsa’s side one point clear of the Baggies.
Albion have the chance to return to first place on Monday when they take on Preston at Deepdale and Poland international Klich is fully aware of the threat that the Black Country club poses to Leeds.
“West Brom, in my opinion, best team in the league and we are always there and we are trying to play our football,” said Klich, as quoted by LeedsLive.
It is hard to argue with Klich on this – it is definitely between West Brom and Leeds when decided who the best team in the league is.
Slaven Bilic has only seen his side lose once in the Championship this season and that was at the hands of the Yorkshire side at Elland Road at the start of October.
Klich could just be trying to take some pressure of himself and his team-mates by bigging up West Brom but deep down he must believe that his side is the best.
It will be the same at The Hawthorns. If you ask the same question to members of the Baggies squad, most will say Leeds are better, just as a way of showing a bit of humility and also to relieve some of the pressure off themselves.
