‘What a man’ – These West Brom fans react to Twitter message from 30y/o star
Charlie Austin is yet to find his feet at West Brom but he was the hero last night as the Baggies went back to the top of the table.
Austin came on in the 75th minute of the game but it looked like the match was going to peter out into a 0-0 draw until Kyle Edwards was brought down by Preston keeper Declan Rudd in the box.
Austin, 30, stepped up and gave Rudd the eyes to send him the wrong way. It was coolness personified, with Deepdale in the 90th minute a very hostile place to take a spot-kick late on.
After the game on Sky, Austin said that all he wants to do is play and score and we’ve no doubt that he will find his scoring boots and play a huge part in our push for promotion in the second half of the season.
He was the hero last night and he sent out a Twitter message to the fans after the game last night, saying, “Great support as always… 1-0 win, performed okay but came away with the three points. Onto Swansea on Sunday, we need all your support.”
The fans are ready to give it…
The Baggies fans were loving it and responded on Twitter to last night’s winner…
