West Brom attacker valued £2m with contract to expire next summer – report
West Brom attacker Kyle Edwards is valued at £2million as he enters the final months of his contract at The Hawthorns, according to the Daily Mail.
Edwards, 21, has not exactly been a regular in the Baggies’ starting line-up this season but the young winger has still made an impact as a substitute.
He scored his second goal of the season on Sunday in the 5-1 win against Swansea and is tipped to have a bright future at The Hawthorns.
However, Edwards’ current contract is set to expire at the end of the season and the Mail reports that his market value is just £2million.
West Brom need to tie Edwards down to a new contract as soon as possible because they will no doubt face the threat of losing the Dudley-born ace next year if they do not.
The Athletic journalist Steve Madeley reported in November that there have been “some informal conversations” regarding a new deal for Edwards, but there does not appear to be anything too advanced just yet.
West Brom left it late last season to secure the future of Rekeem Harper and there are also question marks about Nathan Ferguson’s future in the Black Country as his contract also expires in the summer amid reported interest from elsewhere.
Will Edwards be a West Brom player past the end of this season?
Based on his performances this term, you would have to say that he is worth keeping on as there has been some clear improvement under Slaven Bilic’s leadership.
