'Christmas is cancelled' – These West Brom fans gutted at injury to key star
West Brom scored more late goals to avoid their first defeat in 12 games, beating Birmingham 3-2.
The result today means that West Brom go three points clear at the top, although a win for Leeds would see them leapfrog us, Leeds have a game in hand and play Cardiff at Elland Road in a 3pm kick-off.
Charlie Austin was the hero today. He came on in the 70th minute and scored three minutes later, before adding the winner in the 81st minute.
It’s yet more evidence of the character of this West Brom side.
However, there was some bad news. West Brom lost Grady Diangana to what looked like a hamstring injury in the first half of the game and plenty of fans know what a massive blow that could be.
The midfielder has been involved in 10 goals for West Brom in the Championship this season, scoring four of them.
One fan tried to put a bright spin on it by saying that the injury could be “the best possible way of keeping him until the summer”.
However, another said that he would be out for “A couple of weeks minimum if we are lucky”.
That would see him miss games against Brentford, Barnsley and possibly Middlesbrough, but he would be back for the massive game against Leeds on New Year’s Day.
A couple of weeks minimum for Diangana, if we are lucky

So that'll either be the last time we see Diangana in an Albion shirt or the best possible way of keeping him till the summer #wba
