West Brom handed injury boost over first-team star – report
Kieran Gibbs could be available for selection for West Brom when they take on Barnsley at Oakwell next week, according to the Birmingham Mail.
The newspaper claims via their website that while Gibbs, 30, will miss Saturday’s clash against Brentford at The Hawthorns, there is a chance that he could feature in Yorkshire on Boxing Day after missing the last two matches with an injury.
Gibbs has struggled with injuries this season and has so far managed just eight Championship appearances for the Baggies.
He suffered a groin injury in August before breaking his toe as he underwent his recovery.
Gibbs made a goalscoring return for Albion when he found the back of the net in the 4-1 win against Bristol City on November 27.
He then helped West Brom keep a clean sheet in the 1-0 win at Preston before suffering his most recent setback in the 5-1 hammering of Swansea.
There is no doubt that if Gibbs is fit, Slaven Bilic is going to start him so it will be a major boost for the Baggies to have the former Arsenal left-back available in the middle of the hectic festive period.
In other West Brom news, there is a chance that Grady Diangana could have played his last game for the Black Country side.
