David Prutton predicts West Brom clash v Brentford
Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has predicted that West Brom will win 2-1 against Brentford at The Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon.
The Baggies returned to the top of the Championship table last weekend with a brilliant 3-2 win against Birmingham after coming from behind twice.
Charlie Austin came off the bench in the second half to score a superb brace to see Albion reclaim top spot off Leeds United, who were held to a 3-3 draw by Cardiff.
Former Leeds and Nottingham Forest player Prutton has suggested that momentum could be key for West Brom going into their match against in-form Brentford.
The Bees have won four of their last six in the Championship, but that has not stopped Prutton from predicting a win for the Baggies.
“West Brom just don’t know how to give up. They went behind twice at Birmingham last week but still recovered to win thanks to the brilliance of Charlie Austin,” said Prutton on the Sky Sports website.
“This is a huge test for them because Brentford are in great form at the minute and right in the thick of the play-off battle. But I think West Brom will have just too much. Home win.”
West Brom may have drawn away against struggling Wigan last week to put a slight dent in their Championship title hopes, but that comeback against Birmingham will have no doubt been a major boost going into this game with Brentford.
Austin is in incredible form and has now scored six goals in his last five appearances for the Baggies.
You would fancy him to score yet again this weekend, even if he is named on the bench.
