Bilic shares key injury update on West Brom first-team duo ahead of clash v Leeds
Slaven Bilic has confirmed that West Brom should have Kieran Gibbs and Grady Diangana available for the New Years Day showdown against Leeds United at The Hawthorns.
Albion have won just one of their last four Championship fixtures and dropped down to second on Sunday as they lost their first home game of the season at the hands of Middlesbrough.
Diangana, 21, has been a huge miss in recent weeks with West Brom failing to win in any of the three games he has been injured for.
However the on-loan West Ham winger should be ready to play against Leeds this week while left-back Gibbs, 30, is also set to make a comeback.
“They have a big chance,” Bilic said, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail. “They should be available.
“[With Gibbs at Barnsley] It was just cramp but obviously it was a big cramp!”
West Brom need this.
Since Diangana joined the Baggies on loan from West Ham in the summer, the Black Country club has failed to win any of the five matches he has missed.
Four of those ended as 1-1 draws but the defeat to Middlesbrough on Sunday proved just how much Albion really do miss the winger’s impact.
Gibbs’ return should be a huge boost too.
The former Arsenal and England left-back has only made nine league appearances this season due to different injury issues but whenever he has been fit, he has shown why he is one of the best English full-backs around.
