Journalist claims West Brom move for striker seems ‘Feasible’ as boss doesn’t appear ‘Keen’

There aren’t many areas that West Brom need to strengthen in the January market this season.

Slaven Bilic has put together a great squad of players, and the Baggies currently sit second after only losing two games in the Championship.

If there was one area that may come under question, it would their striking options. Kenneth Zohore has failed to impress and Charlie Austin only seems to be successful off the bench which could become a problem.

Journalist Joseph Chapman has commented on a number of striker targets the Baggies could target in the January market, and a number of Championship options were mentioned – including Derby’s Jack Marriott.

“Derby fans love watching Marriott, a man who you’d put your house on scoring if he was ever one on one with the goalkeeper, such is his clinical instinct,” he wrote in the Birmingham Mail.

“Phillip Cocu doesn’t appear overly keen on Marriott – he’s certainly been starved of starts under the Dutchman this season – and a move would seem feasible.”

There is little to no chance that Derby would let one of their strikers move to another Championship side, regardless of his position at the club.

Marriott may not be Phillip Cocu’s main choice, but he has still featured 19 times this season – eight of those being starts.

The 25-year-old has only scored once, so he is certainly not the answer should the Baggies want to strengthen in the final third.
